STANLEY BACHINSKY 1914 - 2009 With the will to live forever strong, Stanley Bachinsky peacefully passed away on Monday July 13, 2009 at the age of 94. Stan will be sadly missed by Mary, his loving wife of 41 years, his children Elizabeth, Donald (Sue), Gordon (Toni), Mary Lou (Bob), Randy (Caroline) and predeceased by daughter Judy. He will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren; Sean, Jamie, Michael, Robin, Tim, Owen, Christa, Caitlin, Christina and great-granddaughter Isabella. Stan was a man of many accomplishments. His experience of growing up in the depression helped shape his commitment to hard work and family. He began work riding the rails in western Canada to later become Works Manager at the CNR Transcona Shops up to his retirement in 1979. He was an accomplished speed skater and cyclist in his youth. At twelve years old he caddied at Elmhurst Golf Country Club and as a member shot his age at 86. Stan built his home in Anola with his own hard working hands, taking pride in every aspect of the house and yard, planting hundreds of trees, glorious geraniums and spectacular tomatoes. Friends would regularly take a Sunday drive to Anola to visit and to experience his garden delights and homemade wine. He was a generous, gentle, supportive, thoughtful and loyal man who maintained his optimistic outlook and love of life to the end. He'll always be remembered as a man, both strong and good. Who gave his best for others and who did the best he could. He'll always be remembered for all the joy he brought. As a man who made a difference and a man who meant a lot. If desired, the family would appreciate donations being made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
