She was predeceased by her son Bill, her mother and father Bert and Florence Bainard, her brother Art Bainard, and her brother Lorne (Hap) Bainard. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1925 Judy went to school in Brandon, Manitoba and Sudbury, Ontario. As a professional actress she performed on stage for the Little Theatres in Sudbury, London, and Thunder Bay, Ontario including performing in a play of the initial season (1956/57) at Manitoba Theatre Centre in Winnipeg. Later in her career she was a Speech Arts Adjudicator, travelling across rural Manitoba to elementary schools where she was much in demand for her sensitive adjudications. As a member of the Chatelaine Toastmistress Club she was the 1961 winner of the Manitoba Toastmistress Competition, and went on to participate as a finalist in the International Competition in Chicago.
