THEODORE (TED) LALIBERTE Peacefully, surrounded by his family, dad was called to his eternal home on Sunday, July 12, 2009. Dad was predeceased by his sisters Malvina and Florida and by his dear son Claude (May 11, 2007). Dad's life will be lovingly remembered by his dearest wife, Simone, his daughter Monique, son-in-law Gary; grandchildren: Ted, Jamie, Christine and Jenna; sisters: Sr. Pat (SJSH), Marie, Sr. Eveline (SJSH), Sr. Sally (PSSM), Corinne (Ray) and brother Danny. Dad was born and raised in St.Vital, the son of Joseph and Clotilde (nee Normand) Laliberté. He had very fond memories of large family gatherings at the family home on Sunshine Corner. He met the love of his life, Simone Boutière and they were married on September 18, 1954. They spent their newlywed years in St.Vital and then settled in Transcona to raise their family. Dad was a hard worker, starting at the young age of 14, helping his grandfather. He then spent many years working for Crescent Fruit and Merchants Consolidated. Dad enjoyed the simple things in life - He loved gardening and ensuring he had the greenest lawn - the envy of all. He loved Sunday suppers and card games with the gang at Corinne and Ray's. He loved sitting quietly on the balcony with mom observing the activity in the gardens below. He loved cashing in the winning ticket and he loved and adored his grandchildren - they brought him the greatest joy. Dad was the best of fathers, he provided us with many great memories of family vacations and of a home that always welcomed everyone. Dad never told us how to live our lives, he simply loved us unconditionally and set a good example by living his with integrity, compassion, a sense of humour and a genuine love and respect for all - we were truly blessed. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Précieux-Sang Parish, 200 Kenny Street. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
