MATTEO COLOSIMO It is with deep regret and a profound sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of our son Matteo Filippo Kenneth Colosimo on July 12, 2009. Matteo was born April 2, 2009 at Children's Hospital. We knew early on that Matteo would face many challenges, but in spite of these challenges, he proved himself to be a very strong and determined little man who had the ability to light up your day with a single smirk, pout or smile. Matteo was with us for only a very short 110 days; 98 of those spent in the N.I.C.U. Matteo was loved and exceptionally well cared for by his extended family of nurses and doctors who gave so much of themselves in making sure that his life was filled with as much love, joy and fun as any baby could want. Matteo is survived by his loving parents Shauna and Chico, his grandparents Filippo and Adel, Kenneth and Gail, his great-grandparents Anna and her husband Ike, Dave and Judy, Angela, and Wilfred and Jannet, his aunts and uncles; Christopher (Jessie), Jason (Tara), cousin Mia, Timothy and Jordon, and his numerous extended family. Matteo is predeceased by his Nonno Francesco and Opa Jakob who were surely waiting with open arms. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations in honour of Matteo would be appreciated and can be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, N.I.C.U., CE501-840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg R3A 1S1. Before you were conceived I wanted you. Before you were born I loved you. Before you were here an hour I would give my life for you. This is the miracle of life.
