LAURA HELEN SMALL June 17, 1914 July 14, 2009 Peacefully, after a short illness, Laura Helen Small passed away at the age of 95 years at the Victoria Hospital. Laura leaves wonderful memories and takes with her the love of her children; Bob Small (Abby), Rose Jory (Larry), Betty Pagé and Valerie Maxwell (Dennis); grandchildren Andrea, Lee (Kendra), Randy (Allandah), Tracy Marie (Bob) and Aaron and great-grandchildren Sara, Shiane, Miranda, Kyle, Amanda. She has gone to join Matthew, her beloved husband of 57 years who predeceased her in 2003; sister Hazel MacDonald, brother Murray Adair and numerous other family and friends. For those who wish, viewing will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue. Laura's Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Chad's Anglican Church (Assiniboia Christian Centre), 3390 Portage Avenue, with The Rev. W. Gordon Shields, presider. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. The family would like to thank Golden West Centennial Lodge for their care for Mom in her last years and the staff in Emergency at Victoria Hospital for their sensitive and compassionate care for her in her last hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either of the above institutions.
