Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHUGH LYNDAL CONDON Peacefully on July 13, 2009, Lyndal passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 100 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret in 1983; his parents; three brothers and two sisters. He leaves to mourn his brother Maurice and sister-in-law Mary, daughter Mavis (George) Polden, son Neil; grandchildren Cory (Marcie) Epp, Cari-Lyn (Darwin) Epp, Derek, Raeha, Kalycia and Kurrin; great-granddaughter Olivia, and many nieces and nephews. Lyndal was born in Bladworth, Saskatchewan on July 30, 1908. He farmed with his family in Macrorie, Saskatchewan and surrounding area until he came to Niverville, Manitoba in 1937. Shortly after joining the army in 1941, he met and married Margaret Doerfler and then served overseas in Second World War until returning home in 1945. In 1947, he got a job with the Post Office and worked there for 26 years. Upon retirement in 1973, Lyndal and Margaret enjoyed traveling and spent many years snow birding in Texas. Lyndal enjoyed dancing and was a member of many Square Dance and Round Dance organizations in Winnipeg, until just a few years ago when he had to quit for health reasons. He made many good friends and felt his dancing experiences contributed to his good health and longevity. In 1959, Lyndal and Margaret moved to Springside Drive where he lived for 44 years. Moving to Lions Place in 2004, he became involved in many of the activities and made many new friends. A special thank you to the staff at Deer Lodge and Misericordia for their compassionate care. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with reception to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Remember me when you are walking down a quiet country road. Or when you are with family and old stories are retold. My life was long and happy, so don't grieve for me today. Just think of me with fondness now and then in your own way. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
