JAMES HAROLD MCMAHON On July 15, 2009 surrounded by his family at the St. Boniface Hospital, our husband, father and grandfather, Jim McMahon passed away. Jim was born in Carman, MB on November 4, 1928. He grew up in the Carman area and moved to Winnipeg with his family in 1940 where he lived in the St. Vital area for the remainder of his life. He was a Pipefitter / Steamfitter by trade and was a member of Local 254 of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for over 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife Betty of 54 years, son Ken (Wendy), son Doug (Cheryl), daughter Laureen (Dave) and five grandchildren; Shannon, Kelsey, Brendan, Owen and Lacey. Also survived by brothers Gordon and Donald and sister-in-law Irene Wray. Jim was predeceased by parents Orville and Jennie McMahon, sister Dorothy Hall, sister Elizabeth (Elsie), brother Barnet and father and mother-in-law Barry and Lena Fernstrom. The family would like to thank the staff at the Medical / Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital for their caring service and to the staff who responded from the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services. In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal memorial service. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
