RALPH NORBERT KUBESH March 7, 1921 July 7, 2009 On Tuesday, July 7, 2009 Dad left his earthly bonds peacefully, with his devoted family by his side at the East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home in Beausejour, MB at the age of 88 years. Remaining to cherish Dad's memory are his son Ken and daughter-in-law Mary; daughter Carol and son-in-law Ernie Weselak; sister-in law Virginia Kubesh, brother-in-law David Anderson; grandchildren Cheryl Darren, Tracey, Tim - Sheri, Jeff Karen, Todd Karen; Llana - Shane Henderson, Jon Stebbe; stepdaughters Beverly, Elaine, Sharon and their families; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents Anne and Joe; first wife Lillian in 1974; brother Larry in 2000; youngest daughter Terry in 2005, and his second wife Dorothy in 2008. Dad spent his working life in construction; he enjoyed operating heavy equipment and later supervising projects. A people person, Dad formed many friendships with coworkers that lasted his lifetime. His work involved long hours and travel but he returned home at every opportunity to be with his family and friends. During his lifetime Dad enjoyed many years of hunting with his friends, snowmobiling with family and spending time outdoors, he was a skilled hockey and baseball player, a power hitter slamming home runs. He supported the less fortunate in society; being a volunteer driver for CancerCare, an active member of the New Democratic Party, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. As a Legion member his cribbage abilities earned him trips to provincial and national championships. Dad suffered a major stroke, but with Dorothy's care and love enjoyed living at home until a setback forced him into the personal care home. Prayers were held on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour, MB. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m., also in the Church with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves, presided. Interment followed in Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Ladywood, MB. A lunch followed in the BRRC Complex in the Beausejour Hall. Honourary Pallbearers were Trina Macauley and Ashley Kowalke. Pallbearers were Tim Weselak, Jeff Weselak, Todd Weselak, Nolan Weselak, Darren Splett, and Jon Stebbe. The family would like to express their appreciation for the excellent care, compassion and support received from the very special people that work at the East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home. May the winds of love blow softly, and whisper so you can hear; we will always love and miss you, and wish that you were here. For all that life has given us, and all that's left to do, we'll know no greater treasure, than the days we had with you.
