ANDREW JOHN KOLACH 1939 - 2009 It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Andy at the St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, July 13, 2009. He will be deeply missed by his wife Gail, daughter Lynne (Dave) and son Robert. Andy was an entomologist with the Provincial Government for over 30 years where he was well respected for his knowledge, honesty, integrity and his ability to get along with everyone. Andy had an unsurpassed passion and love for nature and the outdoors. He was a keen sportsman and every season he could be found reaping the bounty of that particular season. West Hawk Lake was a special' place for Andy and his family. Many good times were spent there fishing, blueberry picking, swimming and just having fun. Unfortunately, this came to an end on September 11, 2006 when Andy had an accident and became a quadriplegic. Andy handled this with strength of character and the ability to make the best of this challenge life had dealt him. We are thankful for all the help we received during these difficult years. Many wonderful people entered our lives to support and help us through the challenges that faced us. Our appreciation goes out to the Home Care team, to Dr. Zieroth and her team at the Cardiac Bergen Centre and also to the caring and skilled team at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit. And a special thank you to Dr. Dawn McTaggart. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Andy may be made to a charity of your choice. Andy's wishes will be honoured and there will be no formal service. Feel free to light a candle and enfold him in Light and Love as he continues his journey through Life that never ends.
