Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAN GEORGE DOWLING Alan passed peacefully on July 10, 2009 at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife, Ethel of 56 years, son Clayton (Marty), daughter Patricia (Steve), son Fred, and grandchildren Joleen (Don), Jennifer, Alan and Nicole. Alan worked at Thermos for many years as a cost accountant, then advertising and sales in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario. He then served as a Commissionaire at Canada Revenue Agency until his passing. He was a founding member of Windsor Park United Church, the past President of #500 wing R.C.A.F.A., and the past Provincial Chairman of the Air Cadet League of Canada. He was instrumental in the development of a program to allow girls to join air cadets. Alan also served on the executive as By-Laws Chairman and Branch Chairman with #9 Elmwood Legion, 920 Nairn, where a memorial service will be held on July 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined; donations in Alan's name may be made to Manitoba Cancer Care.
