VIOLA (BETTY) PEARCE Peacefully in her sleep, Betty Pearce passed away at Oakview Place Personal Care Home, Monday, July 20, 2009, at the age of 82 years. She was predeceased by her parents Clayton and Lila; and her brother Jack. Betty is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Robert, their children, Jack (Ingrid), Jim (Sharon), Bill (Vikki), Jeff (Cindy); grandchildren, Jaclyn (Jeff), Tracy (Preston), Jamie, Jay, Aric; great-grandchild Mia, and mother-in-law Florence Pearce; three sisters, Roberta, Eileen, Donna (Brian) and their families. Betty was a past worthy matron of the St. John's Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also affiliated with the Fort Garry Chapter. Robert and Betty celebrated 61 years of marriage on June 18 of this year. Betty was a great cook and was famous for her fancy sandwiches. Her family will remember her kind and generous spirit and how she always greeted you with a hug. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Betty's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. Special thank you to the nurses and health care aides at both Victoria General Hospital, 4th floor and Oakview Place, 3rd Floor for their loving care.
