WILLIAM M. LINK Peacefully on July 18, 2009 Bill passed away in the arms of his loving wife Joanne (nee Humphrey). He is also survived by children Dr. Riley Park (Jason), Brandon Nemeth, Mark, Sandy, Rick, Mike, Ryan and Todd Link and numerous family members. Bill served for five years as a flight engineer in the RCAF and during the Korean conflict was a POW after being shot down. Bill began his career as a bus driver in Vancouver and rose through the union ranks, ultimately arranging and implementing the Canadian Council of Amalgamated Transit Unions in Canada. Bill moved on to senior management and served as Superintendent of Vancouver Bus Operations, Manager of Operations for the City of Winnipeg and Manager of Transit in Everett, WA. He was very involved with the Canadian Urban Transit Association, assuming a number of executive positions there. An interest in photography and a love of golf kept Bill busy and engaged during his retirement years. Our Bill is already deeply missed by his family, friends and anyone who knew him. Dedication to his family, empathy for the plight of others, his sense of humour and determined belief in honesty and integrity defined the man. Bill led an adventurous and full life that the rest of us can only envy and marvel at. A memorial service was held in Leduc, AB. In lieu of tributes, donations may be made to the cancer charity of your choice. Hainstock and Son Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 4802 - 47 Ave., Leduc, Alberta (780) 986-2151.
