GEORGE FREDERICK FENN 1926 - 2009 After a long struggle with dementia, George passed away at the Pembina Manitou Personal Health Centre on July 22, 2009. He leaves behind his wife Doreen (Mick), and three daughters and sons-in-law, Anne Bubbs of Winnipeg, Linda and Terry McGuire of Calgary, and Cathy and Ed Shaw of Cardale, MB. George has six grandchildren, Laura and Ellen Bubbs, Erin and Kelsey McGuire, and Ryan and Cale Shaw. Also surviving are his sister Muriel Fenn, nephew Bob Fenn, and in-laws Don and Flo MacMillan. George was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Pat Fenn and son-in-law Terry Bubbs. George was born and raised in St. James. He and Mick were married on January 14, 1950, and moved into their new home on Handyside Ave. in St. Vital, just before the flood. Later they lived in the Crestview area of Winnipeg for 12 years. After retirement he and Mick moved to Manitou and enjoyed the community for almost 25 years. For ten years, winters were spent in Weslaco, Texas. At one time, George enjoyed camping, fishing, curling, golf and especially gardening. The last three years, George resided in Pembina Manitou Personal Care Home, and was wonderfully cared for there by the staff. The family is very grateful for their professionalism and dedication.
