ANNA STEPHANIA STIRLING (nee BADLO, SWYSTON) Peacefully in the early morning hours of July 25, 2009, Anna Stephania (Steffie) Stirling passed away. Steffie was born January 5, 1924 and spent the majority of her life in Winnipeg. She was a proud woman and worked hard to overcome humble beginnings. Steffie was predeceased by her parents, Dora and Simeon Badlo, first husband Peter Swyston, second husband Jim Stirling, sister Mary Balenduk, brothers Meron and Bill Badlo as well as sisters-in-law Gladys and Delores Badlo. Steffie was also predeceased by her son-in-law Roy Pollock and brother-in-law Joe Balenduk. Steffie is survived by her daughter Pat and grandchildren Sean (Cheryl), Darren (Lisa) and Jason (Karen), brother Ray (Mary Ann), numerous great-grandchildren as well as an extended family. Whether in the garden or simply looking out at the world, Steffie was happiest when she saw the beauty around her. She loved flowers and could often be found happily tending to her daughter's garden or delighting in the smile of her great-granddaughter. Her outings looking at the prairie landscape and wildlife were always enjoyable as was the way she spoiled the youngsters in her life. Steffie loved to travel and had spent many memorable vacations in Arizona where she simply relaxed and enjoyed a life of leisure. Although Steffie was a woman of few words, her feelings were always clear by her actions. She had a great sense of humour and her contagious laugh will be sorely missed. We would like to extend out sincerest thanks to the staff of Oakview Place as they provided Steffie with a compassionate and caring atmosphere for the last years of her life. A private family service will be held. You will always be with us.
