MIKE VOGL May 29, 1935 July 27, 2009 Surrounded by his family, Mike Vogl peacefully passed away on Monday at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 74. Mike is survived by his wife Gertrud, children Gerhard and his wife Sue, Robert and his wife Cristina, Heidi, and the grandchildren Melissa, Michael, Paul and Chantel. Our Dad grew up in Austria and moved to Canada in 1953. He worked as a machinist for Winnipeg Hydro for over 20 years. He was a loyal member for over 50 years of the German Society of Winnipeg, where he established many lifelong friendships. He loved to spend time at Camp Neustadt and enjoyed listening to his huge collection of German music. Recently Mike and Gertrud celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary with family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. immediately followed by interment at Elmwood Cemetery. The Vogl family would like to thank the staff of Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
