ISABEL BATTEN (LOTIMER)

ISABEL BATTEN (nee LOTIMER) Isabel passed away in Sault Ste. Marie on July 28, 2009 at the young age of 69. Though her diagnosis and illness were sudden and alarmingly fast, Isabel took on this battle with strength and understanding which helped all those who loved her to do the same. There are many who will celebrate her life. Of note, are her children, Laura Batten, Ken (Susan) Batten, and Chris Batten; her siblings, Holly, Mary (Bill), and Jim (Jane), and her grandchildren, Catherine Rashleigh, Talis and Athens Batten. Isabel had an amazing life. From her career as a Nurse Practitioner that took her to places across Canada and to places as far as Sudan with MSF. To her love for adventure that took herself (and children and grandchildren) to wonderful places like Tanzania and Mexico. A memorial service will be held in Toronto (date not yet determined). Isabel would not want flowers or condolences - she would want those who remember her to follow their dreams and make the most of this moment we call life. Carpe diem.
