CHRISTINA MARGARET PERFECT January 1, 1911 July 24, 2009 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tena on July 24, 2009, at the Rock Lake Hospital, in Crystal City with a family friend by her side. Tena was born at the family home in WoodBay, Manitoba, youngest of eight children of Annie and John MacLeod. She began her education at the one room school in WoodBay, went on to school in Pilot Mound and Gordon Bell High School in Winnipeg. Tena attended business school and worked in Winnipeg for a number of years before returning to WoodBay during the depression to help run the family farm with her brother Neil and to care for her parents. Tena was always active in community life, playing the organ and piano at church services and concerts. In 1957, Tena married Fraser Perfect and moved to Pilot Mound where she worked as a secretary for the lawyer in town and then in the Ag Rep's office until retirement. The door at the farm was always open to the nieces and nephews for summer vacations and Christmas feasts. There were many clan gatherings over the years there, and at her home in Pilot Mound. Tena was an avid reader, enjoying all types of books; was interested in world affairs and dearly loved good conversation on a wide variety of topics. She was always interested in words, continuing to do crossword puzzles until her death. Tena loved to travel and meet new people, enjoying her independence until she moved to the Rock Lake Personal Care Home in 2008. From an early age, Tena was devoted to her many pets, especially her feline companions of recent years. Tena is survived by many nieces and nephews, stepson, Fred Perfect (Louella) and his family and many good friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Rock Lake Personal Care Home and the Lodge for their loving care of Tena and the many friends who visited with Tena. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rock Lake Personal Care Home, The Humane Society, or a charity of own choice. Funeral services will be held at Pilot Mound United Church, Pilot Mound, Manitoba on Thursday July 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the Greenwood Cemetery Pilot Mound, MB.
