MARY JEAN FUNG (WOO)
Date of Passing: Jul 25, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY JEAN FUNG (nee WOO) Mom passed away peacefully on July 25, 2009 with family by her side. Mary was predeceased by her husband Nam, parents Wesley and See, brothers Frank and Tommy, sister-in-law Yet Tong, daughter-in-law Alex. Mary is survived by her sons Jack and Carl; daughters Mei (Chor) and Yolanda; brothers Don (May) and Gume; grandchildren Frances, Janet, Val, Donny (Marika) and Jamie; nephews and nieces, Vincent (Alison), Glenn (Paula), Mitch (Julie), Shawn, Mamie (James) and Grace; great nieces and nephews Meaghan, Graham, Evan, Kellen and Drake. Mary was born in Winnipeg, the oldest of five. She attended Champlain School. She spent most of her early life in China and Hong Kong, and then returned to Winnipeg, where she joined the church of her Sunday school years. We will miss her intelligence, humility, generosity, humour and love. We are so blessed that God sent her to our family. We wish we could be more like her: no showing off, no comparing oneself with others, no fighting, always smiling, treating everyone with respect and care. We thank all the caring staff in the ICU at Victoria General Hospital. The memorial service will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 251 Bannerman Ave., on Saturday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to St. John's Presbyterian Church. Be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Tim. 4:12).
