E. MARION GOULD June 14, 1918 - July 26, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marion Gould on July 26 at the age of 91. Marion had just settled in at the St. Norbert Nursing Home following a lengthy hospital stay. Marion moved to Winnipeg ten years ago after spending most of her adult life in the Portage la Prairie area. Her best years were spent on her beautifully landscaped farm in Edwin. Havenlea , as it was known, was a favourite meeting place for family and friends. Marion was predeceased by her first husband Joe Alke, her second husband Spencer Gould and her brother Ken Murchison. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Louise Olson, sisters-in-law Margaret Murchison, Bertha Nichols, and Isabel Carroll, as well as many nieces, nephews and loyal friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff of the St. Norbert Nursing Home. A private family service and interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. If so desired, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • No one could have had a dearer life-long friendship than what I had with Marion. Though life events eventually saw us living in different provinces, we remained as close friends. Marion, you will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Margaret Larkin (Friend) on: Aug 11, 2009

  • When I think of Marion I remember a gentle, caring, and wonderful person; I remember beautiful flowers (especially gladiolus); I remember being taught the proper way to set a formal dinner table when I was small; I remember being taught how to watch and interpret the stock market when I was older; I remember each visit to Marion's farm in Edwin being filled with happy memories. I feel blessed to have known Marion. - Posted by: Debra Larkin (Friend) on: Aug 10, 2009
