Helen was predeceased by her brother Carl. Mom was born and educated in the north end of Winnipeg, MB on February 11, 1918 to Ann and Gus Dobrowolski. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years at the Fort William Bottling Company, in Fort William, Ontario. Helen then returned to Winnipeg to work at Lord's Furniture where she met Dad. They were married in Winnipeg on June 30, 1950 and lived briefly in Flin Flon, Manitoba before residing on Churchill Drive, Winnipeg. Helen took on the honoured role of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom had many hobbies in her lifetime which included painting, knitting, crocheting, hat and dressmaking. Her loves in life were music, in particular the piano, dancing with Dad, and gardening. Helen loved to cook and entertain and made many special dishes for her family, grandchildren and friends. Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their kind care and keeping Mom comfortable in her last days. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
