MARGARET BARBER (SMITH) (nee DODDS) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret. Peacefully with her loved ones at her side on July 30, 2009. She is survived by her husband Terry, father Leslie Dodds (Frieda) daughters Shelley Smith, Kim Still (Steve) children Dakota, MacKenzie, Lance Barber (Lynne) children Jack, Laura, Emily, Miles Barber (Valerie) children Terry, Brock, Pierce, and sister Joan Spenceley (Ken), sister in law Leslie Rempel (George), nieces and nephews Cathy (Gerry), Warren (Vicki), Bonnie (Bill), Bev (Don), Glen, Lorraine (Van), Gary (Carol), Brian, Brenda (Andy), and all of their children, Special friends Beth Kikukawa (Joe) and Mildred Randal (Harry) Predeceased by mother, Catherine Dodds, husband James Smith and sister Lynne Stewart (George), Margaret and George Smith, Ross Smith (Iris), Jean Simpson (Bob), Donald Smith (Shirley), Mae Bunston (Bill) Margaret's life passions were people and flowers. She loved to visit with family and friends, with family gatherings having a special place in her heart. Margaret especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, all of whom she loved so dearly. Margaret's love of flowers started as a young woman and continued on with her owning her own floral shop, which she took great pride in. Even in retirement she continued to share her gift for creating special occasion and wedding arrangements for family and friends. Weekends at the Lake were treasured by Margaret. During the colder months, overseas trips, including Egypt complete with camel ride this past March, were exciting events. Margaret touched the hearts of everyone who met her, she will be dearly missed by all. She truly was a Beautiful Lady . Margaret was a member of Daughters of the Nile the Shrine Ladies' Auxiliary. The family wishes to thank Dr. Boroditsky, Dr. Lezack and all the staff of Oncology, 4th and 5th floors who cared for Margaret at Seven Oak Hospital, your dedication, compassion and caring will be forever remembered. There will be a funeral service to celebrate Margaret's life at St. John's Anglican Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9 or Transportation Fund C/O Khartum Shriners, 1155 Wilkes, Winnipeg MB R3P 1B9.
