ANNA DUMA Anna entered her Eternal Home, eight days before her 102nd birthday, at East Gate Lodge on Monday, August 3, 2009, where she resided since August 2002. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary, siblings Teenie, Jean and Paul, niece Elsie and Joyce, and nephew Harry. Left to cherish her memory are niece Elaine (Ron) Dufily; nephews Roy (Bernice) Duma, Paul (Edna) Saluk, Mike Saluk; Helen (late Harry) Saluk; grand nieces and nephews. Anna was born August 11, 1907 in Allegra, MB. She worked on her father's farm clearing land, etc. In her early teens, she ventured to Winnipeg, then Toronto, and was employed at sewing factories, Dunlop Tire and The Globe and Mail. She returned to her Manitoba roots in 1987. She was a self taught and caring person. Although being thrifty, she was charitable, donating large amounts to the local hospital. Anna loved to travel, spending many winters in warm climates. Sincerest thanks to the East Gate staff for their care, compassion and attention. Anna Banana was always groomed to perfection! Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour, MB on Thursday, August 6 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding.
