DOREEN LIVINGSTONE (nee CARTER) It is with immense sadness we announce the sudden passing of Doreen Livingstone. Left to cherish her memory are sister Carlu Carter of Australia, son Greg Livingstone (Pat), daughter-in-law Ruth Livingstone, grandson Bradley Livingstone of Langley, BC, granddaughter Sherri Schipper (Mark) and her precious great-grandson Hayden Mackenzie, along with many wonderful, caring nieces, nephews and friends made in her 92 years across Canada. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) in 1997, parents Thomas and Dorothy Carter, sisters Joan and Joy and son Richard Livingstone. Born in Dorset, England in 1917 Nana came to Canada at a very early age. Married in 1938, Doreen and Bill spent 59 years together. During the Second World War she travelled to Halifax and various points in Nova Scotia while Bill was on active duty. In 1980 they both returned to Nova Scotia to visit some of their dear friends made during the Second World War and has always had a special place in her heart for Canada's east coast. Nana always appreciated her loving family and all her wonderful friends and neighbours for all the kindness and thoughtfulness they have shown. Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on, let me stand, I am tired, I am weak, I am worn, Through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light. Nana we will miss your endless supply of love and cookies, mischievous smile, sense of fun and generous heart. Tonight the sky is one star brighter................ At her request, there will be no funeral; a private family interment will take place. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Stroke Recovery Association or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
