DOROTHY BERNICE MORDEN (nee LEONHARDT) 1921 - 2009 It is with deep sadness but loving memories that we announce the passing of Dorothy Morden, aged 88 years, beloved wife of Allister Morden on August 1, 2009 at Boundary Trails Health Centre. Dorothy was born in Drumheller, AB on July 18, 1921 the daughter of Carl and Emily Leonhardt. At a young age she moved to Manitoba. She received her high school education at Poplar Point and graduated from Normal School. In 1952, she met and married Allister Morden an F10 in the RCAF. From Winnipeg, they were posted to Germany where their two children, Pamela and Grant were born. The family had many enjoyable and interesting postings. They returned to Morden in 1966. Dorothy joined the staff at the Morden Junior High School and taught math and language arts until her retirement in 1985. She was involved in St. Thomas Anglican Church and the ACW Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star OES where she served as Worthy Matron and secretary for many years. She was appointed Grand Marshal for Manitoba and Grand Representative to Wyoming. She liked to work in her flower garden, knit, sew, read, play bridge and bake. Her family came first in her life and her grandchildren and great-granddaughter were her greatest pride and joy. They were the light of her life. She is survived by her beloved husband, Allister of Morden, MB, her daughter, Pamela and Rod Zenk of Brandon, grandson, Derek Harvey-Zenk and Karleigh, great granddaughter, Ryan Alli-Marie, grandson, Jordan Zenk; her son, Grant and Bev Morden of Morden, granddaughter, Ashley, grandson, Tyler. Also surviving her is a very special niece, Bernice and Frank Delbridge, great niece and goddaughter, Denise and Dave Belinski, great great-niece and nephew, Megan and Matthew as well as Richard's children, Jessica and Bailey. She was predeceased by her mother and father, eight brothers and sisters and a very special great nephew, Richard Delbridge. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church 131 8th St. in Morden on Wednesday August 5 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. J. Risk officiating. Ash interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. Dorothy's family is extremely appreciative for the exceptional care she received during the last week of her life. Her last days were comfortable due to the professionalism and dedication of the staff. They treated her with respect and dignity and it was a great comfort for her family to receive such tremendous support during this difficult time. We thank you.
