PATRICIA AILEEN CASEY (nee KEEFE) March 17, 1923 August 3, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, at St. Boniface Hospital with family at her side. Predeceased by her much loved husband Buzz in 1993 and brother Terry in 1945. Pat is survived by their six children Joy (Don), Jane (Terry), Stephanie (Rick), Terry (Wendy), Stephen (Marion) and Jamie (Evelyn); grandchildren Sean (Robyn), Jamie, Stephanie (John), Claire, Aimee (Ryan), Hailey, Eric, Liam and Emma; great-grandchildren Jordan and Katelyn; siblings Eric Keefe, Calgary; Bruce Keefe and Lorraine Boyd of Halifax; in laws Stephen Casey, Montreal; Dave Smith, Winnipeg; and Larcie Kerr, Los Angeles. Mom was born and raised in Halifax, enjoying tennis on the Northwest Arm. It was here during the war years that she met and married her dashing young Naval Lieutenant who swept her away to Winnipeg for a busy and full life. Mom's focus was her family. Her love for us was unwavering and she always let us know how she felt. She enjoyed golf at Southwood, bridge, was an avid reader and loved her crossword puzzles. At 86 Mom had an active interest in current events. In the past few years Mom lived in the Wellington where she thoroughly enjoyed herself and her many friends. A service to celebrate Mom's life will be held at St. Ignatius Church at 255 Stafford St. at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 7, 2009, Father Gerald McDougall as Celebrant. Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care and attention they provided to Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: The Winnipeg Foundation, 1350 - One Lombard Place, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0X3, 944-9474.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • It is with sadness I send this tribute to Pat. She was like a mom to me growing up in Winnipeg. She never turned me away even when I showed up at their doorstep way too early in the morning. Her love of children was a blessing for me. I regret not being in touch these past few years. She will be greatly missed! My husband, Norm and daughter, Laura send their tribute of loving her as well. - Posted by: Meredith Nicol (Friend) on: Aug 07, 2009
