Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALCIDE BILODEAU On Tuesday, August 4, 2009, Alcide passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family at the age of 73. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Louise; his children Rachel (Perry), Renald (Kristen), Nicole (Gerry); his grandchildren Stacey, Kyle (Kaitie), Cody (Cara), Dylan, Paige, Logan, Kaitlin, Robyn and Devin; stepgrandchildren Leona (Bryce with Hunter, Desiree and Chase), Eric and Tammy (Devon); and extended family Gisèle (Clarence with Taylor), Darryl and Kyanna. He also is survived by his sisters Germaine, Therese, Beatrice and Roma (Mac); brothers Aurele (Hazel), Albert and Lucien (Terry); and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Alcide was born on May 1, 1936 to Joseph and Josephine Bilodeau in Laurier, MB. He was the 16th child of 17 in the family. He was raised with love by his eldest sister Fabiola and her husband Francois Dupré. On November 6, 1965, he married the love of his life, Louise Desjardins. They settled with their family in Laurier, where he was the Postmaster for 26 years. His favourite pastimes were watching the Habs, playing cards, long drives in the country and spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 4:00 p.m. at Notre Dame des Victoires Roman Catholic Church in Laurier, Manitoba with Father Vincent de Paul Tchaoule officiating. Prayers will be prior to the service starting at 3:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the Laurier Community Centre. Remembrances can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3A 1P6, CancerCare Manitoba, 5-25 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B1 or a charity of your choice in Alcide's memory. He was a husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend...he was our treasure, he was our everything. We will miss him terribly. Good night sweet prince, until we meet again.
