LILLIAN JEAN MILLER June 11, 1931 - August 5, 2009 It is with great sadness that on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, Jean - wife, mum, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at the age of 78 years. Jean was predeceased by her parents Lily and Jim Donald and so recently her beautiful daughter-in-law Pam. Sweet Jean will be remembered in the hearts of her husband Ralph, children Guy (Julie), Lori (Gord), Jeff (Sarah), Glen, Clint (Sandra), Susan (Mark) and Jodi (Brent); grandchildren Sean, Aaron, Joel, Chelsea, Lance (Jen), Tanya (Kevin), Jaylene, Jade, Jessica, Allison and Noah and great-grandchild Tristan, brothers Jim (Mona) and Neil (Linda) and their children and extended family members. Jean was an amazingly strong woman who together with Ralph raised seven children and when her grandchildren were born, she was the go-to Grandma, who looked after the kids. Jeannie was a nature-loving woman who enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing, bird watching, reading, or doing a puzzle. Her happiest times were at the cottage, with a houseful of family, a card game, her binoculars in one hand and a half Lab-Lite in the other. She had one final weekend at the cottage at Grand Beach, and went right to the hospital. Mum was taken too early and right to the end, endured unbelievable pain uncomplainingly, except for uttering the occasional owie when she thought no one was listening. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion during Mum's final days. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jean's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11 at North Kildonan United Church, 174 Pentland St. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's honour may be made to CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
