Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE SLEMKO Born March 26, 1918 in Worthington Ontario. Suddenly on August 5, 2009, from the results of a stroke, Anne passed away. She was predeceased by William Slemko, her parents Sophia and John Parchewsky and her siblings Mary, Stella, Walter and Mike. She is survived by her son Fred and his wife Diana Slemko; her grandchildren Michael and wife Maria, Tara and her husband Chris Sarin and Samantha; great-grandchildren Arjun and Aymara Slemko-Sarin. Anne, in her early days, was a member of the Ontario Women's Baseball League in the championship year. She was an avid fisherwoman and enjoyed many summer weekends at Wasaga Beach in Ontario. She worked as a casual in the treasury department of the EI office and for many years after at the Guardian Insurance Group. Anne had to retire early due to health reasons. Through the years Anne endured many surgeries and challenges that advanced arthritis placed on her, but she met each day with a great spirit and determination to keep her independence. West Park Manor was her home for the past few years and she made many friends of the residents and staff. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff of West Park who had become an extended family to her. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. with reception to follow at family residence. Flowers gratefully declined. We love you Baba. You will be in our hearts forever. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
