Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET HUNTER KIRK (nee STEWART) Peacefully on August 4, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital, Mom left us to be with Dad once again. Margaret was born on November 13, 1927 and raised in Winnipeg. Margaret will be sadly missed by her daughter Lisa MacIntyre (Art) and cherished granddaughter Hanna. She also leaves behind her sister Ann (Bob), nephew Barry, nieces Bev and Dianne, as well as grandnephews and nieces. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband Sandy in 2001. She met Dad on a blind date' and they were then married for over 50 years. Mom was employed by Jeannie's Bakery and Eaton's early on. Later she stayed home to raise their daughter Lisa. Margaret then returned to the work force part time at K-Mart and The Bay as well as a receptionist at a local doctor's office. Margaret loved to 10-pin bowl. She enjoyed many years of league bowling at Empress and then Chateau Lanes. Mom loved to go on bus trips to do a bit' of gambling now and then and also to try her luck at the local casinos. She was a great cook and enjoyed baking, and always made the World's Best Shortbread! The family would like to thank Carol Rempel and the staff at 6E at Deer Lodge Centre for making her feel so comfortable during her stay there. Also special thanks to Dr. M. Sood at St. Boniface, and the many, many nurses and staff who took such good care of Mom in her final days. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2009 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre.
