Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL (MIKE) SALUK It is with great sadness but with loving memories that we announce the passing of Mike Saluk. Mike passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009 with his family at his side at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents John and Tillie Saluk, his sisters Ann in infancy, and Elsie Domenko, brother Harry Saluk and most recently by his Aunt Annie Duma. He leaves to cherish his memory brother Paul Saluk (Edna), sister-in-law Helen Saluk, one niece, six nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Mike was born September 30, 1923 in Ladywood, MB, the eldest of five children. He farmed in his earlier days on the family homestead, worked in the bush camps, built houses in the summer, hauled fuel for Shell and then retired following his employment at the Kisiloski Bulk Fertilizer Plant. He was a devoted son and cared for his mother until her death in 1999. He was a quiet man with a big heart who was always willing to give a helping hand. He loved playing cards and having coffee with his friends. He was loved and respected by all and he will be sadly missed. Thanks to all who visited with Mike during his stay at the hospital. Special thanks for Dr. Fred Zeiler for his many years of care and extra special thanks to the nursing staff for their care and compassion. Honourary pallbearers will be Randy Saluk, Darrell Saluk, Brad Saluk, Gary Domenco, Mitch Domenco and Raymond Domenco. Pallbearers will be Steven Saluk, Mark Saluk, DJ Saluk, Jaclyn Saluk, Troy Domenco and Brett Bouma. Funeral service will be on Friday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Viewing will be Thursday, August 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one half hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beausejour District Hospital, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
