Willie is survived and will be sadly missed by his son Craig (Shelley, Scott, Cherise, Desiree, Dominic, Mike, Karla, Morgan and Wyatt), son Randy (Solange, Diane and Michel), daughter Susan (Rob, Ian, Lyndsay and Dana) and daughter Barb (John, Gillian, Devin and Aidan) and his sister Irene Macdonald. Willie also leaves to cherish his memory his extended family and his many caring friends and neighbours. Willie was predeceased by his loving wife Marge and his son Glenn as well as his mother Iva (Wager) and father, Bert, brothers Ray (Ruby) and Elvin (Millie), and sisters Hazel (Axel) Frosst and Verla (Ervine) Lloy. Willie was born in the Polonia district near Neepawa, the youngest son of Iva Wager and Bert Eros. He was raised by his mother following his father's accidental death in 1936. Willie moved to Transcona as a young man. He took a position as an apprentice painter with the Canadian National Railway where he continued to work in various positions until his retirement in 1987. Willie was also an accomplished auto body painter and worked for many years at Transcona Auto Body. Willie was a dedicated husband and father. In 1952, he married Doreen Marjorie Wildfang (Marge), to whom he remained married for 55 years until Marge's passing in 2008. Together they raised their family, in a busy, noisy household, bustling with activity. Willie enjoyed many happy times watching his sons and daughters grow. In his later years, he was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. Over the years, Willie enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and curling. He spent many happy times with his fishing buddies at Eagle Lake. He and Marge enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii, and socializing with friends and neighbours. He was a long-time member of the Transcona Legion. Having worked and lived his whole adult life in Transcona, Willie was known by many people around town. He was well-liked and respected as an honest, kind-hearted man. We will miss him dearly. The family extends its sincere thanks to Willie's friends and neighbours who have shown so much kindness to him over the years and especially in the past year and half. We also wish to thank the homecare staff from ACCESS Transcona and the staff at Safeway Pharmacy at Kildare and Widlake for their kindness. A celebration of Willie's life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at the Transcona Legion, 117 Regent Ave. E. at 1:30 p.m. For those wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family would encourage you to make a donation to your favourite charity or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
