ERNEST EDMOND PAUL Peacefully, on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 ,our beloved father, Pépé, brother and friend, Ernest Paul passed away after a lengthy illness at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 74 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Claire (nee Préfontaine); son, Bruce; parents, Arthur and Adrienne, and by his brothers, Louis, Leo, and Arthur Jr. He leaves to mourn his passing, daughter, Karen Finley (Gord), granddaughters, Desiree, and Sabrina; daughter-in-law, Debbie, grandsons, Matthew and Joshua; brothers, Gerry (Betty), Albert (Erna), Denis (Eileen), Robert (Lynda), and sister, Denise LaRoque (late Denis); sisters-in-law, Beth, Adele, and Mary-Ann. Ernest was a firefighter for the City of Winnipeg for many years and retired several years ago due to illness. He was an avid fan of horse racing at Assiniboia Downs and loved going to the casinos. He also enjoyed traveling and camping with his family. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Paul Tiguely at the St. Charles Roman Catholic Parish Church, 320 St. Charles Street, on Friday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m. The service will terminate at the church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the St. Boniface Hospital staff on 6A for their excellent care. Flowers are gratefully declined.
