WINNIFRED PATRICIA (PAT) CUTHBERTSON February 24, 1929 August 11, 2009 Pat passed away quietly on August 11, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital. She was born in St. James as the youngest child of Tom and Kit Morgan. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years Ian and her children Glenn and wife Ophelia, Janet and husband Steve Simons and Nancy and husband Jim Willms. She is also survived by adored grandchildren Scott and Laura Simons as well as her sister Audrey Hutcheon and nephew Terry. Pat was employed for many years by the Bank of Nova Scotia but was also very involved in her community. She was a 50 year member of Jephthah Chapter 22, Order of the Eastern Star, a Life Member of the St. James Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a longtime member of the Ladies Group at St. Stephen's Anglican Church and had a more than 30 year involvement in the International Peace Garden and the Legion Athletic Camp. In retirement, Pat and Ian enjoyed 20 winters at their condo in Florida and summers at the cottage on Lake of the Woods. In Florida, Pat was actively involved in the St. Elizabeth Guild at St. Anne of Grace Episcopal Church and volunteered for 15 years at Suncoast Hospital in Largo. Aside from working and volunteering, foremost in Pat's life was her family. Nothing made her happier than a house, cottage or condo full of family and friends. She was a fabulous cook and was renowned for her cookies. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Victoria General Hospital ER and ICU as well as the team at St. Boniface Hospital. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue on Friday August 14 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Diane Guilford officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church or a charity of your choice. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May the winds of love blow softly, And whisper so you can hear, We will always love and miss you, And wish that you were here. For all that life has given us, And all that's left to do, We'll know no greater treasure, Than the days we had with you.
