Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA HOPKO (nee MALYK) November 26, 1921 - August 11, 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Mom was born on November 26, 1921 in Brightstone, MB. She married Edward Hopko on April 26, 1942 and together they farmed in Brightstone until they retired to Lac du Bonnet in 1990 due to Dad's illness. She is survived by her son Tom of Stonewall, MB, and daughter Betty (Ervin) Hemminger of Lac du Bonnet; grandchildren, Keith (Sandie) Hopko of Winnipeg, Dwayne (Michelle) Hopko of Wainwright, AB, and Heather Hopko (Pete) of Winnipeg; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Nora Malyk of Lac du Bonnet, Millie Cuculick of Barrie, ON, Jean Pascoe of Winnipeg, Phyllis Hapko of Lac du Bonnet and Elsie Macrae of California. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edward in 1991, parents John and Polly in 1963, daughter-in-law Vivian in 2008, infant daughter Judy Ann in 1944, brothers Alex, Dan and Edward. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Richard Van Gend and staff of the Lac du Bonnet District Health Centre, Lac du Bonnet Home Care, the NEHA ambulance attendants, the doctors and nurses at the Pinawa Hospital and Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg.
