SANDRA MARIE SAVISKY (nee Hicks) May 23, 1950 - August 9, 2009 On Sunday, August 9, 2009 Sandra Marie Savisky passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 59 years. Sandra was born in Dauphin and grew up on the family farm in Ashville. She attended Mineral Creek School and Gilbert Plains Collegiate. Later she moved to Winnipeg and worked at the Health Sciences Centre as a Health Care Aide for many years where she made many great friendships. Sandra enjoyed doing crafts of many kinds (ceramics, floral arranging, scrapbooking, etc.) She was also a crossword enthusiast and she enjoyed playing cards. Left to cherish her memory are her son Kyle of Brooks, AB, father Jim Hicks of Dauphin, MB, sisters Linda and husband Terry Murray of Gilbert Plains, MB, and Kim and husband Rene Liban of Winnipeg, MB, brothers Ken Hicks of Calgary, AB and Hugh Hicks and wife Marlene of Calgary, AB as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Sandra was predeceased by her mother Maisie on June 25, 2009. Funeral services for Sandra were held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at the Riverside Evergreen Chapel in Dauphin with Father Yolando Gamallo officiating. Interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many dedicated health care professionals who assisted in Sandra's care during her illness.
