Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMELVIN CHARLES SCHWARK October 7, 1949 - August 13,2009 Peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2009, Mel Schwark passed away at his residence in Winnipeg at the age of 59. Mel will be dearly missed by his mother Florence Schwark, his brothers Rick and Brian, his sisters Janet (Ross) Forrest, Karen (Ernie) Zirk, and sister-in-laws Joy Schwark and Kim Riel. He will also be dearly missed by his nieces Jennifer Forrest and Shirley (Tyler) Plantz, and his nephews Michael Schwark and Christopher Forrest. Mel was predeceased by his Dad Charlie Schwark in 2002 and also his brother Don in 1994. Mel was born on October 7, 1949 in Winnipeg; He attended school in St.Charles and then later in Thalberg and Beausejour. Mel worked in Winnipeg at Pioneer Electric for many years and then decided to take up farming in Thalberg; He farmed his own land for about 20 years and also helped his Dad on the farm. After Mel retired from farming he moved to Winnipeg. He worked for a number of years at the Nisa Stabilization Program for farmers. He was also actively involved on the Board of Directors where he lived. Mel was a good-natured guy and enjoyed other people's company. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour with Pastor Jeff Kilmartin officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Beausejour town cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends and family so desire donations in Mel's memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or a charity of one's choice.
