JEAN E. CHESTER (nee KASPRICK) With sadness we announce the passing of our mother, granny, and great-granny Jean Chester. Mom passed away peacefully on August 15th, 2009 with family at her side. She will be deeply missed by her children Rockie (Alison), Lorry (Kenna), Cheryl (Wayne) Batchelor, Carl (Jan), Richard (Jeannine), and Janet (Ryan) Melnyk, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, her sisters Agnes Burdiak and Louise Mospanchuk and her brothers Alex (June) Kasprick, Vernie (Doreen) Kasprick and Gordon (Emelie) Kasprick and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Antoni and Mary Kasprick, brother Donald Kasprick, grandson Clinton Karl Chester, brothers-in-law Joseph Burdiak and John Mospanchuk. Jean was born in Eden, MB on May 5th, 1926. She moved to Winnipeg where she raised a family. She worked at Dominion Grocery store for many years, which she enjoyed. During her retirement she volunteered at St. Joseph's Nursing Home. She loved to challenge her mind with crosswords. Her greatest passion was in her kitchen always making sure you received a gift of baked goods to take home. At her request cremation has already taken place. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 20th, 2009 at St. John's Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave. with Rev. Chmiel Ceas officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, honorary Pallbearers are all who attend. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Mark Kristjanson and palliative care, especially nurse Norma K. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St. Wpg, MB R3C 2B7.
