ROBERT (BOB) CLARKE November 17, 1944 - August 16, 2009 It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Bob Clarke, at the age of 64. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife and partner of 22 years, Eileen; children, Alysha (Andrew) Buck, Andrew Clarke, and from his first marriage, Terri (Bill) Dowhy, Sandra (Dennis) Watson, Lorraine (Tyson) Kaus, Catherine (Richie) Plett; sister Cheryl (Dennis) Clarke, brother Jack (Cheryl) Clarke; eight grandchildren, Rachael and Bobby Dowhy, Anthony and Alexa Kaus, Isaac, Gloria, Jack and Gina Plett, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Bob was born in Winnipeg, MB to Lyle and Ruby Clarke and had a wonderful childhood in Glenboro, MB. He followed his father's footsteps into studying pharmacy at the University of Manitoba and opened Clarke's Pharmacy in Lynn Lake, Leaf Rapids, and Thompson, MB. He was well respected by the people of Northern Manitoba for 40 years. He recently retired with his wife to Winnipeg to be closer to family. Bob enjoyed curling, golfing, and both cross-country and downhill skiing. He loved to travel and for many years held a pilot's license. He also treasured his time spent at Berge Lake and Paint Lake, where he enjoyed boating, water skiing and sea-dooing. Bob was a wonderful husband, father and brother, providing endless support and guidance to all of his loved ones. His strength and love for life and living will be an inspiration to us all. He will be lovingly remembered, never forgotten, and always cherished. The family expresses genuine appreciation and extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of CancerCare at the Health Sciences Centre, especially Dr. Maksymiuk and Mia, as well as the Palliative Care team and the great people from Homecare. We would also like say a special thank you to Linda, who was such a comfort to Bob in his last days. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB.
