Joyce is survived by her loving husband Peter, her children, Dan (Dawn), Gary (Tammy), and Debbie (Dean), her grandchildren, Amanda, Mike, Michelle, Nicole, Sara and Megan, her sister, Lois (Don) Osborne, sister-in-law, Yopie (Kees) Potter, brother-in-law, Frank (Joyce) Tervoort, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Molly Hollender. Joyce was born in Winnipeg on November 12, 1938. In 1959, she married Peter Tervoort, and together they raised their three children just outside of Stony Mountain. Although Joyce did work for a number of years at Jostens, her main job revolved around her family and her garden. In 2000, Joyce and Peter built their home in Stony Mountain where they enjoyed the new-found family of their neighbourhood. Joyce enjoyed her outings to bingo, trips with her sister and niece to Shooting Star, evenings playing cards, and just spending time with family and friends. On May 30, 2009, Joyce and Peter celebrated their 50th anniversary, surrounded by family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and support during the last few months, and a special thank you to the staff at Stonewall Hospital for their compassion and kindness, shown to not only Joyce, but the entire family during her final days. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2009 at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel 433 Main St., Stonewall, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare or a charity of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements
