Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY MAY REVER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby May Rever on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Ruby was born on November 2, 1932 in Durban, Manitoba. She grew up in the Swan River area and attended school there. In later years she moved to Winnipeg. Ruby spent the past 20 years in her own home that she loved and took great pride in. Ruby enjoyed cooking and offering up to others her prepared goods along with a good cup of coffee. She was a gifted artist who loved to draw and tell animated stories of her childhood. She had a love for flowers and often filled her home with them. Ruby was also an animal lover who had several pets over the years. She also loved to take pictures of everything and anything that interested her. Above all Ruby loved to shop and took great pride in her appearance. She was rarely seen without her nails and hair done and was always dressed stylishly. Special events, like birthdays and Christmas were also important to Ruby. She loved to shop and buy the perfect gift for her friends and family. Ruby enjoyed many summer trips to Pelly, SK to visit her aunties' and other relatives. She especially loved her trip to Hawaii in the spring of 2000. Ruby was a loving, gentle and giving person who will be remembered for her beautiful smile, sparkling brown eyes and her wonderful sense of humour. Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Ida Rever, and her brother Earl Rever. Left to mourn Ruby are her cousins Gerri, Violet and Ruthie as well as her many friends. Sincere thanks go to Ruby's special friends, Carrie, Lorraine, Olive, Lizia, and David who meant the world to Ruby. They spent time with Ruby and gave their love to make her life such a happy one. The family would also like to thank Ruby's current and past support staff at Simaril Inc. who provided such great support to Ruby over the years. Also, a special thank you to We Care, Home Care and Dr. Joanna Lynch. Ruby was blessed to have such caring people with her at all times. We would also like to acknowledge the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care during Ruby's many visits over the past few years. A funeral service celebrating Ruby's life, followed by a reception, will be held on Friday, August 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Interment will be at a later date in St. Vital Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations may be made to Simaril Inc., 402-321 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0A3 or a charity of one's choice.
