Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERTO MENDOSA SILVA August 17, 1940 August 16, 2009 Peacefully after battling cancer, with his wife and niece at his side, Roberto united with his Creator August 16, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 69 years. Roberto was born on August 17, 1940 in Manila, Philippines. He immigrated to Canada in 1975 and married Florencia Hernaez. He worked at the Federal Government Hospital (Deer Lodge Centre) for 25 years as Housekeeping Supervisor until he retired. He is survived by the only brother Romeo Silva. At the time of suffering he was surrounded by in-laws, Jenny Hernaez and Noel, Sonny Precy and family and numerous nieces especially Cecil (Juliet) Carmila of the Philippines with whom he calls his own kids, and Bongbong of Winnipeg and close friends Luise Pereira and lots of friends here in Winnipeg. Many thanks to the Health Sciences Centre especially to the Staff in GA4 Fourth floor, and special thanks to Dr. Silha and the Cancer Team Doctor. Lamay will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 commencing at 6:00 p.m. from Mosaic Funeral Chapel. Vigil Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m. during the Lamay with Rev. Father James Ahaneku presiding. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. on Saturday August 22, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. with Rev. Father James Ahaneku celebrant. Pallbearers are Sonny Hernaez, Felipe Hernaez, Rolando S. Hernaez, Lloyd Murias, Aris James Saquibal, Joshua Hernaez, Petronilo Hernaez and Hector Herrnaez. Reception to follow the Funeral Mass at Mosaic Reception Centre. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the Philippines at a later date.
