Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANNA (JANE) KARS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, aunt, and grandmother on August 16, 2009. Left to cherish her in memory are her children Jerry, Gracie (Walter), and Jo-anne; grandchildren Tiffany, Andrew, and Brady, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her husband Jurrien, son Andy, parents John and Anne Top, as well as her brothers Henry, Willem, Woebe, Wietze, and sisters Jeanette and Froukje. Jane was born in Grootegast, The Netherlands on July 6, 1935. She came to Canada with her family in 1951 where they settled in Kenora, Ontario. She later met and married her husband, Jurrien and moved to Balmoral where they farmed and raised their family. They moved to St. Andrews and enjoyed retirement working in their garden and donating to the food bank. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. Funeral services will held Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. also in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel and presided over by Pastor Henry Ozirney. Interment to follow at St. Clements Cemetery and luncheon to be held at St. Clements Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Selkirk General Hospital. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
