JOHN GEORGE KLOS (1950 - 2009) Peacefully on August 17th, with his loving family by his side, John made his transition into the arms of Jesus, Son of God. In August 1982, John married the love of his life, Janice Shemeliuk. They raised four children, Garret, Brendon, Leighton and Jillian. John will be greatly missed by his wife and children, sister June, brother-in-law Nick, nieces Laurie, Kathy and family and mother Sophie. He was predeceased by his father Harry and his father-in-law William and mother-in-law Elizabeth. John retired from the CNR in 2006 after 32 years of service, and maintained friendships with his former employees through regular monthly breakfast get togethers. John had a flare for cooking. He enjoyed creating his own recipes for his supperclub friends over the years. Family and friends were important to John. He was a social butterfly wherever he went and could easily strike up a conversation with a stranger anywhere. John was never idle. He travelled with his wife and children by train from coast to coast in Canada, camped in Manitoba and the USA, travelled frequently to North Dakota on shopping sprees, and went frequently to see family in Dauphin. John fought hard during his illness to be with his family. He was grateful to be discharged home with home care support, after being in the hospital for 11 months. A special thank-you to Dr. Harris for her care and compassion and to the staff at Concordia Hospital for their support during John's brief stay. A special thank-you to Father Walter Klimchuk who was an inspiration to John throughout his illness. Thank-you to all our family and friends who were around to comfort and encourage us throughout this journey. A big thank-you to our church family (St. Anne's Parish) for all your support in the past year. Cremation has already taken place. Memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on August 24th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Ave., with reception to follow. Interment with immediate family will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Vichnaya Pamyat Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
