MICHEL (MIKE) VIATEUR LAFERRIERE December 3, 1931 August 19, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family. Michel will be sadly missed and forever cherished by his loving wife of 56 years, Jeannette; children, Simone, Rose-Marie, Claude (Colleen) and Maurice (Barb); grandchildren, Réal (Suzanne), Philip, Céline, Monique (Ron), Brigitte, Jeanine (Miguel), Robert, Michelle (Brian), Matthew, Patrick, Tom (Sashia), David and Marcie. Dad has nine great- grandchildren, Justin, Samantha, Brooklyn, Alex, Kaden, Joël, Dominique, Stéphanie and Hailey. He also leaves his sister Rita Levasseur and several nieces and nephews. Michel was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Viateur as well as three brothers and five sisters. Dad was a loving and compassionate man with a great sense of humour. He loved to work with his hands and create wonderful memories for us all. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, hunting, playing cards and attending grandchildren's activities. Dad was a master craftsman who loved to build furniture, kitchen cabinets and made numerous wooden toys. Thank you to the staff of Foyer Valade for their warm and compassionate care to Dad during the past year. Celebration of his life will be presided by l'Abbé Kevin Bettens on Monday August 24 at St-Eugene Parish, 1007 St.Mary's Rd. Viewing at 1:00 p.m. followed by mass at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Green Acres on #1 Hwy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Foyer Valade or CancerCare of Manitoba.
