ROBERT (BOB) HOWARD MORRISON August 7, 1940 - August 19, 2009 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bob at the Selkirk General Hospital on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Howard, mother Rose and nephew Jeff Kirton. In passing he leaves to mourn his wife of 49 years Gail; children Lisa Regier (Adolf), and Blake Morrison (Darlene); grandchildren Jennifer Regier (Duncan), Michelle Regier, Cassie Morrison, and Jarret Morrison; sister Margo Kirton (Allen); aunt Irene Tillett; brother-in-law Randy Christie (Joan) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was raised on the family farm in Meadowdale and attended high school in Selkirk. At 21, Bob was employed as the 'lab kid' at the Canada Metal Co. in Winnipeg. After many promotions he retired due to health reasons at age 52 at which time he was Winnipeg and District manager. He also ran the family farm for many years but still found time to play baseball, golf and curl with his many friends. Bob loved travelling, especially to sunny places and we enjoyed many vacations together. He loved watching Blake and friends play hockey and most weekends were spent driving the kids from rink to rink. At Bob's request, his memorial service will be held at the Cloverdale United Church (small church so throw lawn chairs in your car). The service will take place on Monday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Deborah Vitt officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Special thanks to Joe Lucas and Jim Stewart who kept Bob in the loop at Canada Metal and always made him feel he was still part of the group. Thanks to Dr. Demsas and staff at the hospital especially Meagan and Allison for the wonderful, caring way they attended to Bob. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cloverdale United Church Memorial Fund, in care of Mr. Rob Cox, 118 Montgomery Ave., Selkirk, MB, R1A 3Z4 or to a charity of your choice. We love you and will miss you. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
