FLORENCE EDITH CAVELL RILEY November 26, 1917 - August 16, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence at Riverview Health Centre on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Florence moved to Winnipeg at a young age and lived in St. James. She worked for Metropolitan Life, General Films and the City of Winnipeg as community clerk in St. Vital. Her thanks went out to so many who were a special group of her girls from working days. Flo (Toni) was predeceased by Harold in 1994 after 37 years of marriage and a wonderful life before and after retirement on Riley's Island, Lake of the Woods. Florence was always involved in sports, particularly softball and 5 pin bowling. Flo loved to travel and had some memorable trips with close friends, Kaye Bell, Bella Budgell, Wyn Thomas, Peg and Gort Strecker, Doris Lyon and with Harold. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Patrick (Janet), Heather (Tom), great-grandchildren Megan, Shayna, Aiden, Elizabeth and Scott, very close friends Sheila, Shawna and Roxane, a special goodbye to Susan Strecker, niece Audrey Stockdale, many cousins in SK and BC along with the Moran family, Barbara, Jean, Olive, Eric, Maureen and especially Aunt Rose. Her grandchildren and their families were a very special part of her life. Always be enthusiastic and even the most serious things can be sorted out - Florence Riley. The family will have a private gathering. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
