ANNE MELLICK (nee DYCK) With her family by her side, sadly on August 18, 2009 Anne passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital. Anne will be missed by her son Wayne (Irene) and grandchildren Jeff and Eric. Anne is survived by her sisters Elma and Lillian, brothers Ed, Jake and Peter. Anne was predeceased by her husband Roger (February, 2008) and her sisters Christine, Nelly, Mary and Helen, brothers Ben, John and Abe. Anne was born in Plum Coulee in 1926 and raised in Morden, she came to Winnipeg as a young woman met and married Roger. For many of the 59 years they were married Anne was a homemaker, but in the early years she worked long hours on the farm and at the local dairy. During her later years Anne resided in Edgewood Estates where she will be greatly missed by her many friends, especially at the Tuesday Night Bingo game. Mom's passion was talking to people; she talked to everyone, everywhere, anytime. If you were standing behind her in line at Safeway's checkout, by the time you got through Mom knew your life history. She should have been a detective, she had a gift for getting people to talk to her. The family would like to give a big thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care Mom received. Memorial Service to be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
