ANNE ZOPPA (nee CHUBEY) August 11, 1920 August 15, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great- grandmother after a short illness at the Selkirk General Hospital. She was born in Sarto, MB on August 11, 1920. While living in Winnipeg she met and married Peter Zoppa in 1940. After the war they moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario where she resided until August 2006 when she moved to Selkirk, MB to be close to her remaining family. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1998, also brothers, John, Bill, Steve and sister Kay. She is survived by her son Gerald (Anna); four grandchildren, Diane (Shaun), Jeri (Ken), David (Tracy), and Glen (Cindy); seven great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Also extended family Don and Pearl Chubey, Norman and Marilyn, and Ralph; sisters-in-law Bernice, June, Lynn and Lenore and numerous friends in Thunder Bay and Lions Manor where she resided. She loved gardening and playing cards (31) with her grandkids. She owned and drove a taxi in Thunder Bay for many years, so a nice Sunday cruise was always a good pastime. At her request no formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place and her remains will be taken and buried in Thunder Bay in the fall. Thanks to doctors and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their care and attention.
