Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHALGER B. ANDERSON August 2, 1925 - August 21, 2009 Peacefully Halger went to be with his Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family after a lengthy stay at Grace Hospital. Halger is survived by June, his wife of 60 years, children Eric (Henna), Margaret Lynn Wilson, Ken (Nicole), Evelyn Mayor (Larry); eight grandchildren David, Crystal, Steven, Andrew, Melinda, Christie, Cathy and Jean-Paul, nine great grandchildren and his brother Len (Elaine) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, father and 12 siblings. Born in Whitemouth, Manitoba proud of his Swedish heritage, Halger was full of love, fun and laughter. He met his wife of 60 years as her patient in the Grace Hospital; and they settled in Winnipeg and resided at the same address until he built a house further down the street. Halger worked 41 years for CPR and joined the retirees coffee clutch and softball team upon retiring. Railroading was in his blood as his railroad memorabilia can attest. He loved family, life and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand. Time with family was important to him and summer vacations were filled with family trips across Canada and the U.S., often to visit relatives. Halger was multi-talented, with many home projects on the go stopping only to help family, friends and neighbours with theirs. Although suffering from CHF, chronic bronchitis and arthritis, his sense of humour was with him to the end. Halger will be missed by all who knew him and will remain in our hearts and memories forever until we meet again. Special thanks from the bottom of our hearts to the staff at Grace Hospital for their excellent loving care and compassion to Halger and his family. We will never forget how you helped make his last days comfortable. Special thanks to Rob Gunson and Anne Harcus whose support and help meant so much; he loved you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Hospital, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or to Beautiful Savior 1541 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 3V8.
