Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL DORAINE KUNKEL (nee LOEB) Mrs. Ethel Kunkel, aged 79 years, of Beausejour, MB, dearly beloved wife of Rudy Kunkel, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Beausejour Hospital. She is survived by her husband Rudy, daughters Lisa (Mark) Lange, Rena (Chris) Hegele and Donna (Ron) Knopf, grandchildren Kevin (Rosanna), Ken (Lauren), Kaitlyn, Steven, Shelby, Jenna and Travis, brothers Hugo (Bernice) Loeb and Billy (Mary) Loeb and sister Margaret Drewlo. She was predeceased by her parents Amalie and William Loeb and brother-in-law Don Drewlo. Ethel was born in Lydiatt, MB to Amalie and William Loeb on August 27, 1929. She grew up in Lydiatt where she met the love of her life Rudy. They married on October 21, 1950 and were happily married for 58 years. They moved to Transcona in 1954. They raised three daughters, Lisa, Rena and Donna. In 1974 they moved back to Lydiatt. Mom worked very hard on the yard and farm. Their yard looked like a park along the river. She took pride in everything she did. Mom loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She enjoyed nature with a passion. Her seven grandchildren were her greatest joy. Ethel passed away peacefully with all her family by her side. The skies were dark and cloudy and the rain came down hard. Then just before 11:00 a.m. an opening in the sky and a ray of sun beamed through and shone on her bed. She took her last breath and then the skies closed up. Mom will be greatly missed as she celebrates her birthday in heaven. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bart Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin M. Lange, Ken Lange, Kaitlyn Lange, Steven Greschuk, Shelby Greschuk, Jenna Knopf and Travis Knopf. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in her memory may be made to Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9.
